Adam Whobrey a.k.a Hoobs
Adam Whobrey was born 1982, in Torrance California . Submerged in a melting pot of sub-culture , he found the underground art of flame working glass in 2001. Mainly self-taught he developed his skills outside of traditional schooling, traveling the US sharing techniques with fellow artists. Creating realism in glass and invoking emotion thru timeless creations that are universally relatable Adam has created a body of work that draws from human experiences in the 20th century on forward.
In 2010 Adam created the first glass sneaker which gained him wide recognition for his mastered sculpting, with collectors including famous musicians and businessmen. Now after over two decades spent mastering his craft, he is pushing the limits of the medium. Adam has lead some of the largest projects ever created with borosilicate glass. His work has blended cultures and help expose the art form to a broader audience.
Adam has held art exhibits throughout the US, Canada & Europe. He has taught in the US, Canada and Europe, has been featured in multiple glass and non- glass related magazines. And his work is now collected and sold in over 18 different countries.
